Hierarchy, management layers, reporting lines, governance forums and planning cycles all exist to answer four questions: What is happening? What should we do? Who should do it? How do we stay aligned? AI changes the fundamental constraint. For the first time, it becomes possible to observe, interpret and act on organizational and customer reality continuously, rather than through periodic, human-mediated aggregation. Our prediction: firms will transition from static coordination via hierarchy to dynamic coordination via intelligence systems.
