Building on a long career that includes C-level positions in large, publicly listed firms in technology and professional services, as well as collaboration with world-leading academics, Gianni now focuses solely on reimagining work through AI and digital technology—transforming organizations, services, and processes, along with what may be the most critical element: people’s abilities. His approach spans innovation to operations, front to back office, and is grounded in principles derived from MIT’s work on Collective Intelligence, enhanced by AI and other digital technologies.

Gianni currently serves clients as a senior advisor with both Goldman Sachs’ Value Accelerator and the Boston Consulting Group.

What sets his work apart is the principled and deliberate integration of traditionally fragmented disciplines—innovation management, training platforms, collaboration technologies and methods, knowledge management, and the design of work and its processes—into a cohesive, AI-powered approach. Generative AI now plays a leading role in this transformation.

Gianni has helped build and scale world-first innovations, including Genpact’s Genome, regarded by many as one of the best learning infrastructures globally; Virtual Watercooler, a smart assistant that reinforced professional networks during and after the COVID-19 pandemic; and numerous business process services and industrialized operating models across industries—from financial crime to content moderation. His work has also incorporated human-centered design into services, radically improved collaboration and knowledge practices at scale, and supported innovation through tools such as MIT’s Ideator, a prototype for AI-augmented problem-solving.

Through supermind.design, Gianni advises organizations on shaping their future and driving meaningful impact. He leads design innovation at MIT’s Collective Intelligence Design Lab, where he and his team create AI-augmented collective intelligence prototypes. He also serves on advisory boards of several organizations that use AI and collective intelligence to generate positive change.

Previously, Gianni held senior roles with industry leaders such as SAP, BCG, and Danone, and most recently with Genpact (NYSE: “G”), a leader in business process transformation services.

He has lived and worked across three continents, speaks five languages, and is currently based in Berlin—a time zone he finds ideal for orchestrating today’s global flow of ideas.
